Run Free is really and truly for everyone. We coach professional runners and athletes, we coach students, and we coach people who are just getting off the couch to try and run a 5k to those who just want to add some activity and exercise in their life and across the entire spectrum of athletic ability. We can specifically tailor our plan to where you are and where you want to go.
One of the greatest separators for us at Run Free is our ability to coach you at a high level no matter what distance runner you are. We have coaches that specialize in short distances, others who specialize in middle distances, and those who are excellent at marathons and long distances. It's why we are for you and why we know we can help you succeed. Everything is specifically designed and tailored to your needs.
We understand that not only does everyone have different athletic abilities and goals, but also everyone has different personalities. One of our unique skills is to match those personalities between athlete and coach because that relationship is so important to your success and the ability of your coach to know you and create a plan specifically designed to help you succeed.
Many people make the misconception that coaching subscriptions are only for high level competitors and professional athletes, but that isn't something we believe. We coach many people who simply run for the fun of it. They enjoy it. They want to get better at it and may run some races, but may not. However, the coaching relationship helps enhance the fun they have as well as helping them feel better as well. So even if you are just wanting to run because you enjoy it, we can help!
We often get requests from every day people who aren't runners and wouldn't even consider themselves athletes, but simply want to get in better shape and get to a place where they can run a 5K. And we can absolutely help with that. Our coaches are great at creating plans that fit your exact needs and can help you develop endurance, how to run at a good pace, and many other areas of need to get you to your goal whether it's simply to finish a race, or be able to run a few miles straight, or whatever you are wanting to accomplish. Let us help you get there!

One of the biggest honors we have is getting to work with first responders and military personnel. We coach police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, current military, veterans, and much more. Many are trying to stay in great shape and health while others love to compete athletically and want to push themselves physically. No matter the reason, we'd love to serve you!
It's not just our coaches that are elite, but we coach elite athletes like those who compete in triathletes. If that's you, we want to work with you. We can help you level up your training, your nutrition, your mental focus and agility, and much more to not only help you compete at a high level, but move past those barriers and achieve your goals along the way.
That's right, we work with high school athletes including and are able to help many of them develop great running technique, discipline, set and achieve goals, and much more. We help sprinters, long distance runners, and athletes of all sports who want to level up in their training and performance. We love working with young people and helping them fall in love with running and then we get to see them grow and develop into tremendous athletes, competitors, and young men and women.
That's right, we work with athletes as young as middle school and are able to help many of them develop great running technique, discipline, set and achieve goals, and much more. We love working with young people and helping them fall in love with running and then we get to see them grow and develop into tremendous athletes, competitors, and young men and women.
Through the years, and currently, we have worked with a number of college athletes whether those who want and plan to turn professional or those simply enjoying their time in school. We aren't a replacement for their college coaches, but an additional resource to help take their training to another level to enhance their performance and help them achieve and exceed their goals.
Targeting runners of all ages/ability levels, specifically those who are either burned out on data, paces and exact distances AND/OR those who prefer a more "run by feel" plan where they are really dialing in to effort level and how their body feels and not married to the watch.
Effort based training using a 1-5 effort scale for about 85% of training.
5-6 targeted runs/month where data and pace ARE very important. These should be days you get really pumped and psyched for, rather than stress and anxiety inducing.
This is not a rejection of science and data, but rather using it much more sparingly than a traditional training plan. It is a realization that some runners are more motivated by nailing the right effort and enjoy training more when pace/distance are not paramount and often not prescribed. Strava and GPS watches are fine, but the runner must be okay with training written out mostly in total time and effort levels rather than pace and distance.
Who this is not for: The runner who really relies on having a prescribed pace and distance for all or most runs, the runner who enjoys looking through the data post-run and gains confidence and motivation from that, the runner who is very OCD about tracking mileage.
Overall/primary goals (not necessarily in this order - all being equal):
